Our Commitment

Social Map Work (listed on Google Play as Social MapWorK) is a community platform developed by SnipThinK Software Private Limited. People use it to report and follow local civic issues on a shared map. We are committed to protecting our users, and especially minors, from sexual abuse, exploitation, harassment, and harmful content.

Social Map Work is for adults only (18 years and older). It is not designed for, directed at, or made available to children, and only adult users may create an account or submit reports in the app. These standards still apply in full, because children can be affected by what adults share, for example when a child appears in a photo or a report reveals where a child lives or studies.

These Child Safety Standards apply to everyone who uses the Social Map Work app and its related services, and to all content shared through them, including reports, photos, descriptions, comments, and profile information. They work together with our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.

Zero-Tolerance Policy

Social Map Work strictly prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sextortion, trafficking, and any other sexual exploitation of minors. A minor is anyone under 18 years of age.

This applies with no exceptions: not for humour, fiction, art, "awareness", or any other stated purpose, and it covers real, drawn, digitally altered, and AI-generated material.

Prohibited Activities

You must not use Social Map Work to do any of the following:

  • Upload, share, request, store, or distribute CSAM, or links to it.
  • Groom a minor, or otherwise build contact with a minor for the purpose of sexual exploitation.
  • Sexually harass, coerce, threaten, or extort a minor, including sextortion.
  • Use any community feature (reports, comments, profiles, location information, or contact details) to find, contact, or target minors for exploitation.
  • Share sexualised or exploitative images, videos, or links involving minors.
  • Facilitate, advertise, or promote the trafficking or any other abuse of a minor.

Attempting, encouraging, or helping someone else to do any of these things is also prohibited.

Reporting Child Safety Concerns

If you see content or behaviour on Social Map Work that may involve the sexual abuse or exploitation of a minor, report it to our child safety contact by email. Anyone, including parents and guardians, can raise a child safety concern this way; you do not need a Social Map Work account.

Report a Child Safety Concern

Email: support@socialmapwork.com. Please put "Child Safety Concern" in the subject line.

What to include

  • A description of what you saw and where in the app you saw it.
  • The username, report or post details, location shown on the map, and the date and time, if you have them.
  • How we can contact you if we need more information (optional).

Do not attach, screenshot, download, or forward suspected CSAM, even to report it. Sharing this material can be a crime and causes further harm. Describe it in words and tell us where it is; we will locate it.

If a child is in immediate danger

Contact your local emergency services first. In India, call 112 (emergency) or 1098 (CHILDLINE), or report online at the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal. You can also report CSAM directly to the NCMEC CyberTipline.

Enforcement and Content Removal

We review every child safety report we receive and treat them as a priority. When we obtain actual knowledge of a violation of these standards, we take appropriate action, which may include:

  • Removing the content or restricting access to it.
  • Suspending or permanently terminating the accounts involved.
  • Closing any account we learn belongs to someone under 18, since the app is for adults only.
  • Investigating and reviewing related content and accounts.
  • Preserving relevant information where the law requires it, so it can be provided to law enforcement.
  • Reporting confirmed CSAM to the appropriate authorities.

Accounts terminated for child sexual abuse or exploitation are not reinstated.

Cooperation With Authorities

Social Map Work complies with applicable child protection laws and regulations. We report confirmed CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or to the relevant regional authority, as applicable. In India, this includes reporting through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal and to law enforcement.

We respond to valid legal requests from law enforcement agencies investigating the abuse or exploitation of children.

Privacy and Protection of Minors

Social Map Work is an adults-only app built for reporting civic issues, not for meeting or chatting with strangers. Because children can still appear in, or be affected by, content that adults share, we ask every user to follow these rules:

  • Photos: Photos should show the civic issue being reported. Do not upload photos in which a child can be identified. We remove photos that sexualise or exploit minors.
  • Location data: Location is used to place reports on the map. Do not use reports or map features to reveal or track where a child lives, studies, or spends time.
  • Personal information: Do not post a minor's name, phone number, school, or other identifying details in a report, comment, or profile. We collect and use personal information only as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • Community interactions: Contact with or about minors that is sexual, threatening, or harassing is prohibited and will be acted on under these standards.

Parents and guardians who believe their child's information or image appears in Social Map Work can contact us at the address below to request its review and removal.
